How I store my cosmetics/jewellery...

This is a fairly recent buy that I bought from Amazon, it's still available here... http://www.amazon.co.uk/METAL-EARRING-NECKLACE-BRACELET-HOLDER/dp/B005IDM1CO/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url for £11.99. I really like the fact that I can hang it up and all my long necklaces are visible and don't get tangled. I used to store them all in a box where I couldn't see them and would just end up buying more and more, so it's also helped curb my jewellery addiction slightly! It's probably not too clear on the photos, but the wire writing in the top row says 'earrings', then 'bracelets' and lastly 'necklaces'. It didn't come with anything to hang it by so I just threaded through a ribbon and tied it in a bow and hooked it onto a nail.

Next is a small jewellery box that I received as a present a few years ago. I just use it to store my smaller stud earrings in the top compartment and extra dangly ones go in the bottom drawer.

I also received this glass holder as a present, but I think that it's originally from Paperchase and I use it to store bracelets and bangles in.

And lastly for jewellery storage I have this cream wire jewellery tree. It doesn't usually stand on the floor, but lives on my shelf, however there wasn't enough decent light to photograph it there. I just think that it's nice to have all your jewellery on show and that they can create a real focal point in a room. I bought this one in Bentall's department store when I lived in Kingston a few years ago, however I've seen quite a few around recently in TK Maxx and Claire's Accessories.

Now on to cosmetics...

I used to store all my creams, hair products, sprays (basically non-make-up items) on the top of my chest of drawers but they were spread out I had no space for anything else. Then I came across this cupcake stand from Homebase and it is the perfect solution. It has created  much more room (I even have space for a vase now!) and I can access all my products really easily and have even used it to store some of my hair accessories. The only downside to this is that the wire patterns bases on the three different levels can have quite large holes in them so some of the smaller products can fall through, I tend to make sure they will fit but alternatively you could cut some patterned card to shape and place it into the bases.

This is where I store all of my make-up. I have been very good recently at sorting it out and it actually all fits into these three sets of drawers. I bought is one on sale from Dunelm Mill for around £12 I think. I like the fact that I can take the drawers out and take all the products I need up to my mirror. The bag on top is just a gift bag from Benefit that I use to store all my recent purchases that I want to try out.

I hope that I've given you some ideas if you're thinking of re-arranging your room or just trying to de-clutter a bit. Having most things on show and storing them in the same place has really helped me re-evaluate what I've got and has definitely helped me stop spending silly money on items I already had but didn't realise!

Mini Haul

Just a little haul of what I got over the weekend...

Firstly I bought some earrings from Topshop which were half price so I got them for £6.25  for 3 sets of earrings which I think is really good value. I only ever wear gold jewellery as I find silver just doesn't suit me. I love the vintage look of these and think they'll get lots of wear.

Also this week I've been to Birmingham and eventually managed to have a decent look around Forever21, I went to their Oxford Street store last month but didn't have enough time to buy anything as I had a train to catch (and I think because I was just standing in awe for quite a while wondering which way to go in their jewellery section!) I bought these earrings this time....

Still loving the triangles! I also bought a top (which I wore yesterday, so couldn't photograph!), and some underwear (which I doubt you'll want to see!)

I also went to Primark whilst in Birmingham and bought the most Summery thing ever.....NOT!  Haha...suede imitation boots! I don't have any black booties and for £8 I couldn't say no, even if we are at the end of June!

And lastly I bought two more Revlon Lip Butters in Lollipop and Tutti Frutti....

Myleene Klass Nails Review

Hello!
I've been wanting to try nail wraps for a long time as a girl that gets very impatient waiting for nail varnishes to dry. I couldn't wait to try out a product that promises zero drying time with no chipping or smudges and will last all week. However..let me tell you now, I was really disappointed!
I chose a vibrant red colour that luckily had 75% off, I believe they usually retail for around £6-£7. You get 24 wraps in a packet that will cover most sizes of finger nails and toe nails and also a nice big nail file (looking back probably the best feature!)
The instructions say to make sure that your nails are clean and free from polish or oil, then chose the correct wrap for the size of your nail. There are a good selection of sizes in the pack and also some extra pieces if one isn't quite a perfect fit. If you've never used nail wraps before the texture feels slightly like vinyl -that's the best way I can describe it.

So far so good...until you try to apply them! As you can see from the photo each wrap has a rounded side which fits to the shape of your cuticle and then you wrap the excess over the top of your nail and file away. I found this a very fiddly and time-consuming process.
'So quick and easy to apply', I wouldn't really call half an hour quick!
Firstly I had difficultly applying the wrap without any creases underneath, whichever way I tried to smooth it another crease would appear somewhere else!
Secondly I found removing the excess a challenge, the instructions say file downwards over the top of the nail to remove. However I just kept filing and my nail was definitely being removed but not the wrap, and even after I successfully managed to remove it, I was left with a raggedy mess at the top of my nail.

Thirdly they didn't even last a whole day! I applied them in the afternoon and had already removed they by bedtime after being so fed up of the peeling from the top and sides and scratching my face. Plus I had more than one person ask me 'Kelly, what's wrong with your nails!?" Not good!

I actually managed to meet Myleene earlier in the year at a launch for these nails wraps, she was so sweet in person and looked gorgeous, but I don't understand how you can fully endorse a product when it is so bad! Wouldn't you make every effort to make the product amazing before you go stamping your name on it? I know I would!

All in all I was very disappointed in these, I'm so glad I didn't pay the full retail price as then I would
have been really annoyed in the poor quality. I'm really hoping that this kind of product is not just a gimmick and I will find a good quality one eventually.

Has anyone else used these? What did you think?

Would love to hear from you! Thanks for reading!

Primark AW12 Collection Look Book

Hello! I just stumbled across the Primark Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection on the Look website and thought I'd show you some of my favourites..
There's a lot of sleeveless collared blouses (yay!), blazers, colour blocking, and prints this season, and also a few grunge items like the mock Doc Martens.

Here's what caught my eye...
Primark AW12 Pointed Contrast Wedge, £18Pointed Contrast Wedge, £18
Just so classic and would go with so many outfits, they're quite high but the wedge and the ankle strap would make them easier to walk in (hopefully!)

 Primark AW12 Pink Jacket, £15Pink Jacket, £15
Love the cut and the pop of colour that this would create.

Primark AW12 Studded Slipper, £12Studded Slipper, £12
I love slipper shoes, but I still haven't managed to get my hands on the plain ones from Primark, none of my local stores have them, still searching!

Primark AW12 Metal Tip Top, £6
Metal Tip Top, £6
I actually bought this yesterday, before I saw the new collection, I just really liked the colour and the collar tips. A bargain for £6!

Primark AW12 Quilted Faux Fur Bikier JacketQuilted Faux Fur Bikier Jacket, TBC
I really like this but would prefer if they did it in black.

Primark AW12 Houndstooth Print Shorts, £12Houndstooth Print Shorts, £12
High-waisted printed shorts, what's not to love?

And lastly....
Primark AW12 Metal Bow Box Bag, £38Metal Bow Box Bag, £38
Love the colours and the bow design on this clutch bag, however I'm hoping that the price is a typo and that Primark aren't thinking of a new pricing strategy!

What were your favourite pieces? Would love you hear from you!

The Body Shop -Cucumber Freshening Water & Raspberry Ripple Bath & Shower Gel

Hello! Today was so windy and rainy the only thing to do was shop. (Like I need an excuse anyway!) So I just thought I'd show you some things I picked up..

The Body Shop had a half price sale on today so I picked up these beauties for £2 each..

The first item I bought was the Cucumber Freshening Water. I've been looking for a new facial toner for a while so I'm hoping that this one will be natural and kind to my skin, I'll keep you posted! Secondly I picked up the Raspberry Ripple Bath & Shower Gel, purely for the scent! I can't wait to use it, it smells so good!

I also picked this up in TK Maxx..
It's called Ultimate Look eyes by e.l.f and it contains 3 eyeshadow pots, 2 applicators, their lengthening & defining mascara in black brown, an eyeshadow brush, false lashes and glue, a brightening eye liner in
brown and a eyeshadow brush. It also gives instructions on the back of the box on how to create the ultimate look, which I shall be trying out. While I was shopping I saw another version with grey and black eye shadows, but I thought this one was perfect because it's the colours I normally wear. All this for £5.99! I was a very happy girly!

What did you get this weekend?

Cath Kidston Labels & Stickers

I bought these a few weeks ago from Waterstone's and think they're so pretty. I got an email from them telling me I had around £6 on my points card, I didn't even remember I had a card! I'm guessing they all amounted when I was a poor student spending crazy amounts on books. (£45 for one book, for one semester, really!?) So to make up for all that expense I now have these for free! Haha.

It's basically a book of stickers, there's about 30 pages and you get a mix of small round stickers with Cath Kidston floral designs, polka dots and birds, there's also the little rodeo man! Then you get quite a few ones that can be used as gift tags and also for writing addresses on envelopes.
Here's a little something that I decided to do with mine. I felt the handles on my drawers were a little plain so I jazzed them up a bit...
I've only just realised how much the third drawer is sagging, that's because it's soooo full of make-up and beauty products, may need to have a little sort out before it collapses! Haha x

A few things I bought today...

I only nipped into town for an hour or so today so didn't end up getting much, just a couple of things from Primark and accessories from Dorothy Perkins. The weather was surprisingly warm though so I also went  to a little garden fete which had some jewellery stalls and ended up getting 2 pairs of earrings for 50p each! Bargain!

I'm having a serious obsession with clutch bags right now! This one was £8 from Primark.
My new earrings
Oh and triangles! Another new obsession, I just had to get something triangely! I settled on this necklace from DP's, on sale for £2!

Hope you all had a nice Sunday...back to a full week at work tomorrow..boo! :(
